As an educator, you understand that just acquiring technology "stuff" does not necessarily ensure improved teaching and learning. Having a set of handheld computers loaded with educational software is only half the battle. In order to have a successful Palm handheld classroom project, the computers must be integrated into the curriculum.

This section of the Learning @ Hand website provides classroom-tested lesson plans submitted by teachers across the nation, which can be used "as is" or modified for your grade level.

Food Chain Fun Elementary
 Students will create food chain diagrams on their handheld computers using their concept mapping software. They will discuss the roles of producers and consumers in the balancing of nature within an environment. This lesson could be tied in with the Owl Pellet lesson.
